Cookies

Cookies are small text files a website can place on your device to remember your preferences or measure usage, for example. Besides cookies, a site can also use other browser storage techniques, such as local storage (localStorage), which is technically not a cookie but serves a similar purpose. This page explains what this site places — and what it does not.

The current state

On an ordinary visit this site sets no cookie — none for analytics, none for advertising, for any visitor. Visit measurement (Google Analytics 4) works without cookies: Google stores no identifier on your device and does not recognise you across visits or pages. What is stored locally is your choice to close the language suggestion — technically necessary storage that works independently of consent — and, only if you ask for it, gr_int, described below.

Google Analytics 4 — measurement without cookies

Every Google consent signal is set to "denied" by default — for every visitor, in every country, with no exception for visitors outside Europe — and this site carries no message or other mechanism that could change it (Google Consent Mode v2). Measurement therefore runs permanently without cookies:

• All visitors, regardless of country: no analytics or advertising cookie is set. Per page, Google receives the address, where the visit came from, the IP address and general device and browser characteristics, with no identifier that recognises you across visits.

In short: on an ordinary visit this site sets no cookie, and visit measurement works without cookies. One exception exists and is named here rather than passed over in silence: gr_int, our own exclusion for internal visits, written only when you deliberately open a page with ?internal=1 appended — as a cookie with a lifetime of one year, and additionally in local storage. On an ordinary visit nothing is written, and nothing on this site links to it. It holds a single flag and nothing about you, and you delete it by clearing this site’s data in your browser. If the set of services changes — for instance once advertising is added — each cookie will be named here and it will be explained how you give, manage or withdraw consent, the same way for everyone, regardless of region.

Changing or withdrawing your consent

There is no consent message on this site, because no cookie requiring consent is set. The button below stands ready for the moment advertising does run.
