Your privacy comes first. This policy explains which data this site processes — and, above all, which it does not. In short: on an ordinary visit the site sets no cookie, no registration or account is needed to use the calculator, and visits are measured with Google Analytics 4 without cookies (described below). One exception exists and is described below rather than passed over in silence.

The calculation stays on your device

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The gross pay you enter and the choices you make are processed locally and are not sent to a server or stored by us. Once you close the page, that input is gone. So you never have to provide a name, email address, national identity number (fødselsnummer) or payslip data to get an estimate.

What is stored technically

On an ordinary visit the only thing kept locally in your browser is your choice to close the language suggestion, so it does not reappear on every page. That is technically necessary storage for the site to work and contains no data that could identify you as a person. Fonts and images are served by this site itself; the single external request is Google’s measurement script, which runs without a cookie. One further exception, named here rather than passed over in silence: gr_int, our own exclusion for internal visits. It is written only when you deliberately open a page with ?internal=1 appended — as a cookie with a lifetime of one year, and additionally in local storage. On an ordinary visit nothing is written. The measurement code reads it on every page view to keep our own test traffic out of the figures. It holds a single flag and nothing about you, and you delete it by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Visit measurement

Visits are measured with Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google. Each measurement message carries the page address, where the visit came from, the IP address — from which Google derives an approximate location — and general device and browser characteristics, but no cookie and no identifier that would recognise you across visits or pages. That data may be processed outside Norway. No advertising is shown. The controller can be reached at info@desymphony.com; the supervisory authority in Norway is the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet), with whom you can lodge a complaint.

This is a pre-launch version of the privacy policy. The final text will be published before the official launch, in particular once advertising services are put in place.
